A Keszey vendéglőben 1922-ben Botosok néven „bohémtársaság” alakult, melybe a Nemzeti Színház minden tagja beléphetett, a tagság egyetlen föltétele a barátság volt.
„A barátság ápolása, a tehetségesek megbecsülése lesz fő célunk, s ha aztán akad közben egy-egy nemesebb akció, amelyet fölkarolhatunk, poharazás közben baráti módon szépen megbeszéljük, így gondoltunk már arra is, hogy nyomorban lévő kollégák helyzetén fogunk enyhíteni, vagy idevetődött, jobb sorsra érdemes vidéki színészeket karolunk föl…” – jelentette ki az egyesület elnöke, Gyenes László színművész.
Flag of the ’Staff-bearers’
A ’bohemian society’ was founded in 1922 at the Keszey restaurant under the name of Staff-bearers, which was open for all members of the National Theatre, friendliness being the only requirement for access.
‘The preservation of friendship, the recognition of the talented shall be our main objective, and if we to find one or another more noble action that we can support, we shall discuss it in a friendly manner with a couple of glasses on the side. Such a cause we have been discussing was to help our colleagues in need, or, as it was suggested at some point, we could offer support to our colleagues in the provinces deemed for a better life.’ – declared the president of the society, actor László Gyenes.
