Beregi Oszkár William Shakespeare Julius Caesar című tragédiájában Antonius szerepét 1902-ben játszotta először a Nemzeti Színházban. A színész így emlékezett az előadásra:
„Megszólalnak hangosan a római kürtök, […], és ahogy a huszár-lovak felkapják a fejüket, ha megszólalnak a trombiták, én is egyszerre Antonius vagyok, és elfelejtem, hogy bármi, bárki más is van a világon, mint Róma, Caesar, a római nép és én, Caesar nagyratörő, de hűséges barátja, Marcus Antonius, a katona, politikus, a rétor, aki állandó veszedelemben forgó élete minden percében, minden eshetőségre fel van készülve – ő legalább is azt hiszi.”

In 1902 Oszkár Beregi played the role of Antony in Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare for the first time. This is how the actor recalled the performance:
‘The Roman horns are blown with power, and, as the horses raise their heads if the trumpets are heard, I also instantly transfigured into Antony, forgetting that there was anything or anybody else in this world beyond Rome, Caesar, the Roman people and I, Ceasar’s ambitious but faithful friend, Marc Antony. The soldier, the politician, the speaker, who, in every moment of his life in constant peril, is prepared for all possibilities – at least that is what he believed.’
